Last week I told you about the wonderful Vegetable Medley Farm Basket from Barnhill Orchards, but it couldn’t be found on the site. The reason is that due to the extreme cold, they weren’t sure how the greens would fare so they temporarily removed the item. After seeing the forecast, they tightly covered their crops for protection (not an easy or quick task). GOOD NEWS! There are 5 boxes available this week so check it out under HARVEST SPECIALS in the Vegetable category. You won’t be disappointed.
Here’s a special offer on Muscadine Juice from Jerry at Bluebird Hill Berry Farm:
The Muscadine grape is a species of native North American vine first discovered by European explorers of the Southeastern United States. The earliest named variety was “Scuppernong”, discovered in 1554. The varieties used by Bluebird Hill Berry Farm have been developed by Isons Nursery. These varieties produce a sweeter fruit. The juice produced from these grapes contains all the health benefits attributed to the muscadine grape. This product is not mixed with other juices nor is it highly filtered.
A supply of this juice will be available as “Extras” during the market this Friday at a reduced introductory price. An open bottle will also be available for sampling.
