Opening Bell: Goat Cheeses, Honey, Spinach, Microgreens!

Good afternoon!

Merry Christmas Eve! Yes, we are having market this week. It’s a busy time with families getting together or traveling, but our Growers are still harvesting some amazing produce. Cadron Valley Acres has listed MICROGREENS! Get some for salads or sandwiches.

On average, we have to close the market once per winter due to dangerous travel conditions on market day. We try to make the decision before the market opens on Sunday, but occasionally winter weather creeps in unexpectedly later in the week. This week we may get a little something Thursday morning, but it isn’t expected to impact roads on Friday. We all love our local food, but we value our Members and Growers even more, so safety is the determining factor.

Despite the colder temperatures forecasts for this week, it’s still the perfect time to add some Elephant Garlic PLANTS to your garden. They survive cold winter temps and will continue growing in the spring. Limited quantity available.

Mabel, from Everette Brown Farm, told me she expects to begin harvesting Rutabagas in a couple of weeks. How exciting is that! In my humble opinion, Rutabagas are much under-appreciated. Try them again, or for the first time.

I will have some exciting news about a new Grower soon. Stay tuned!

Many varieties of Goat Cheese available now! Check out the NEW Goat Cheddar!

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Over 550 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

The market is now OPEN for orders. Click here to start shopping:

Have a great week!
