Dear Conway Locally Grown Community,
It feels like spring again this weekend! I hope that last cold front was spring’s final cold front, but I’ve been saying that for the last two or three frosts. Some of our farmers are bravely planting tomatoes and other warm weather crops; others are holding out a little longer for fear of another freeze. Between the destructive tornadoes and the record low temperatures all across the state this past week, many Arkansas farmers big and small took a hit.
At Falling Sky Farm the grass is growing, cows are moving daily, chickens are pecking their way across the pasture, and pigs are grunting and grubbing. If you want to come see these critters in their element, get tickets for the May 11 Farm Tour which encompasses Falling Sky, Ratchford, and Armstead Mountain Farms. Bring a camera – these farms are some of the prettiest in the Ozarks. Tickets can be found under the events page on the market.
