Greetings Conway Locally Grown Community,
Here are some updates from a couple of our growers:
Arkansas Natural Produce will be online this week, but will then be taking a two week break from the market. They will be back online for the week of July 12th. Don’t fret! There are plenty of growers to satisfy your produce needs while ANP is gone.
The following is an entertaining message from Jerry Markham of Bluebird Hill Berry Farm encouraging you to buy more eggs!
NEEDED! NEW DESIGN CHICKEN!
As a producer of eggs from free ranging chickens I have built a flock of happy hens capable of producing enough eggs to satisfy the market demand. This demand has been met with each of you receiving your desired eggs when ordered.
It has been a building process in an attempt to satisfy the market demand for eggs. The peak demand has been met by constantly increasing the flock and listing more and more eggs as they become available.
The “New Design Chicken” needs a valve where the delivery of eggs can be controlled. Animals do not operate an a calendar to know when it is vacation time. The hens are designed (currently) to deliver an egg each day. If needed production, at peak demand, is 100 Doz. per week and the markets only order 75 Doz. What do we producers do with the other 24 Doz.? If the hens only had a valve!
