Opening Bell: Apples, Pork, Coffee, Squash!


Good afternoon,
Do you ever get asked why you shop at Conway Locally Grown for your food? I’m sure you give better quality and fresher taste as a standard answer. Did you know that the average American meal uses up to 17 times as much petroleum as a locally-produced meal does? And the average distance supermarket produce travels before it reaches you is a whopping 1,518 miles! Eating local has so many benefits that it’s difficult to narrow your reasons down to just one or two. Eating local is a conscious decision we make based on what’s best for our bodies, what’s best for our families, and what’s best for our environment. Be a locavore!

Come early on Friday for the best selection from the EXTRAS table. And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)
