Opening Bell: Hellebores, Salad Mix, Broccoli, Beef!

Good afternoon!

Our market will continue to meet in the lobby every Friday. Our volunteers will be wearing masks. Your order can be brought to your car in the parking lot by one of our dedicated volunteers. Just call or text me when you are parked, and we will bring your order to your vehicle. 501-339-1039.

Do you need bulk ground beef? Ratchford Farm now has their 10 pound package of frozen ground beef for only $6/lb. They also offer ten 1-pound packages for $65. Fill your freezer!

Check out the garden 4-pack of plants from Cedar rock Ridge. One Cherokee purple tomato plant, two Genovese basil plants, and one purple ruffles basil plant. Let’s grow!

Broccoli from Strack Farm!

If you have any shady spots in your yard, you may want to consider hellebores. They are perennial evergreen plants that flower during winter. The flowers are subdued in color but last a long time in a vase when no other local flowers are available. Hellebores cost over $20 a plant in gardening catalogs, but we have them for only $2 each, thanks to the generosity of my good friend, Stewart. Text me if you would like me to send pictures of mature plants that are flowering right now. These will quickly become one of your favorites. No maintenance required. They thrive in shady or partial sun and moist soil. Does not like drought. Shade-loving hostas are also available. If you have full sun, try some perennial purple coneflowers. Beautiful long lasting flowers on long straight stems, and the birds eat the seeds from the cones when the flowers are done.

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. Four instance, type in the word “sale” and see what pops up. We have over 500 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!
