Opening Bell: Wickles, Squash, Jam, Honey!

Good afternoon!
Wickles will be available in the extra table refrigerator this Friday at pick up. Several folks have been asking when I would make some more, so Friday after market I picked up some freshly picked cucumbers from Strack Farm on Lower Ridge Road and made 14 pints on Saturday morning. Come early before they’re all gone. They’ll be the star of your next grill-out. Eat them all up and bring the jars back please :-).
Julie’s Sweet Shoppe is taking a week of vacation but will be back next week with their wonderful products!

LouJane at Rockwood Crafts has been sewing hundreds of masks to keep your loved ones safe during this global health crisis. They are cloth with elastic and wonderful fabric designs. Keep a couple in your cars so you are never without one.

It looks like Sweden Creek will not be having any shiitake mushrooms for the foreseeable future. I am looking for another local shiitake producer but it may take time. In the meantime, try some of the other varieties listed by Wye Mountain mushroom farm. I’ve heard the lions mane and oyster mushrooms are excellent!

Our market will continue to meet in the lobby every Friday. Our volunteers will be wearing masks. Your order can be brought to your car in the parking lot by one of our dedicated volunteers. Just text me when you are parked, and we will bring your order to your vehicle. 501-339-1039.

Be sure to SEARCH for your favorite items using the search field. For instance, type in the word “sale” or “pork” and see what pops up. We have almost 500 items available now!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!
