Opening Bell: New Farmhand! Plants, Kale, Spinach, Beef!

Good afternoon!

The CLG family is proud to announce the arrival of Winfield Fox McCannon, born on Thursday, April 13 at 9:50am. Although he is only 7lbs 6oz now, we look forward to watching him grow over the years as he develops into a first-rate farmhand at Bell Urban Farm under the watchful eyes of his parents, Kim and Zack. You’ve seen Kim volunteering at the market several times a month for over a year. Congratulations new parents!

Busy, busy, busy! So much to do in the garden this time of year to have delicious veggies all summer long! Also, since it’s going to be so warm, you might want to stock up on the last of the kale and spinach before it bolts. Just blanch them in boiling water, drain, and freeze in cottage cheese containers to have bright greens all year long. #spinach-artichoke-dip!

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!
