Opening Bell: Lettuce, Potatoes, Pumpkins, Meat!

Good afternoon!
Normally we would be having kale at the market, but hot and dry conditions have pushed fall greens back a bit this year. A tip of the hat to all of our Growers who have to contend with Mother Nature as they work to provide our food. The late freeze we had this past spring caused over 75% loss of Apples which are normally harvested this time of year. :-(

We are happy to add a new Grower to our market: Mable Everette tends a productive vegetable garden on her family’s acreage in Plumerville called the Everette Brown Farm. Mable is planning her spring garden now and anticipates having kale, turnips, collards, onions, okra, and more. She grew the pumpkins that were on the extras table Friday. Bar C Farm has Andouille Sausage for only $5 per pound, and Bratwurst Sausage for $6 per pack of 4 Brats. Time to fill your freezer!
