Tamales! Also on Friday, we welcome back Doña Estela and her amazing homemade Tamales! She will make them Friday morning and have them at market Friday afternoon. They will be 5 for $7 in 3 flavors: Pork, Chicken, or Jalapeño & Cheese. To get an idea of how many she should prepare, please add a note to your order, or text me at 501-339-1039. If you do that, she will have your Tamales labeled for you. She will bring extras too. Delicious with sides of refried beans and rice, topped with a bit of salsa. They freeze very well so get some for several meals.

Usually our awesome volunteers have the market ready for customers to pick up before 4pm. If you are out and about and want to know if we are ready, just text me to see: 501-339-1039.

If something comes up that you cannot personally pick up your order today, please contact someone to pick up for you.

Remember to bring your EGGSHELLS, glass jars for recycling, egg cartons, and bags for ordered items. Reduce, reuse, recycle! See you this afternoon.

All the heat lately is only good for one thing: Okra! And it is being harvested now. Drewry Orchard has lots of Gherkin cucumbers, burpless seedless cucumbers and zucchini.

Milder temps in the forecast will be perfect for the Purple Hull Peas and Cantaloupes that will be coming soon.

Lots of pickling Cucumbers are listed now, so… Make some Pickles!

Try some Papalo. You’ve probably never heard of it, but I can assure you that it might be your new favorite herb. I first tasted Papalo at Scott’s garden at Cadron Valley Acres last November and I was amazed! Cilantro is so hard to grow here, but this delicious alternative thrives in the heat. Try it.
