Have you ever wanted to dehydrate some of the wonderful fruits and vegetables available at CLG, but didn’t have a dehydrator? Well, now you can rent a dehydrator from CLG. Pick it up on Friday, use it all week, and return it to the next market. This is a 4-tray American harvest food dehydrator and jerky maker. Comes with instruction manual and recipe guide. If someone would like to get it this Friday and keep it until the first market in December, just text me and I will hold it for you. You can make a lot of beef jerky much cheaper than in the stores. Has a special tray for making fruit leather (fruit roll-ups). Only $4 per week.

Cedar Rock Ridge now has their 2017 Faulkner County Fair Best of Show Award-winning Garlic listed for only $1 per plant. Ready to transplant into your garden now!

Kale, Lettuce, Spinach, Green Tomatoes, Carrots, Eggs, Radishes, etc. We are pleased to have Rattle’s Garden listing this week. Tara has a first class operation in Vilonia and produces excellent vegetables.

Most items are listed by 6pm Sunday, but check back again before the market closes Tuesday night to see if any other items are ready to be harvested for you! Eat fresh! Eat local! Eat for better health!

And save your eggshells throughout the week for the laying hens! :-)

Planting Party! - Market Closes Tonight after 10pm.

Hello friends,
There’s still time to place your order for pickup this Friday, November 10th.

Please read this message from Joe and Nikki Calvert:

We have thousands of lettuce plants to transplant in the next few weeks, and we could sure use some help! So, we’ve decided to throw a “transplanting party” next Saturday, November 11th starting at 2:00 p.m. We’ll work together to transplant for a few hours, then enjoy a meal together of some sandwiches made with our farm raised pork or chicken, twice baked potatoes, and a salad bar (with our lettuce, of course!) Joe is going to get out his tree climbing gear, so hang around to visit, try your hand at tree climbing, and enjoy a bonfire and s’mores.
If you’d like to come, please RSVP with number of adults and children attending by Wednesday the 8th so we can prepare enough food. Please email: service@calvert-enterprises.com

The market closes TONIGHT after 10pm, maybe even midnight! Come early on Friday for the best selection from the Extras table. See you Friday!

Opening Bell: Elephant Garlic, Pound Cake, Eggs, Muscadines!

Good afternoon!
Welcome to the world, Natalie Kay! Phyllis Strack’s newest grand-daughter was born Thursday and weighed 7 pounds 14 oz. You can bet Natalie will be bounding around Strack Farm on Lower Ridge Road very soon! Natalie’s Mom, Mary Rose, works at Julie’s Sweet Shoppe and is doing great. Congrats to all!

The big news on the local food scene right now is the early freeze we experienced this weekend. At Cedar Rock Ridge, we had 29 degrees on Friday night, and 28 degrees on Saturday night. This means that our Peppers are done for the year. Luckily though, I’ve been preserving them all summer! Search for “dehydrated” and you will find several listings. Also, other Growers still have summer produce growing in season-extending high tunnels.

Check out the big and beautiful Peppers from Kellogg Valley Farm! Red, orange, purple and green. Stuffed peppers anyone?
