Opening Bell: New Grower! Coneflowers, Honey, Pork, Sausage!
Hello friends!
We are so excited to welcome Sandra as the head baker at Hickory House. She has worked with Conway locally grown for over 10 years and is now expanding her work with our market. Check out her information under the growers tab. I have tested the bread she bakes in the wood fired earthen oven in her backyard and it is really, really good. Shawn did a great job crafting the oven from local material. Limited quantities so order early!
Here’s a good opportunity for you to get some larger plants for your landscape. I will be digging and dividing some of my three-year-old coneflowers. These are very low-maintenance and great along a fence or standalone, or grouped with yellow flowers, in my opinion. Planted in your garden now, they will overwinter and produce strong plants in the spring. Pollinators love the flowers, and birds enjoy the seeds later on. Please call or text me how many of these hardy plants you want at two dollars each.

Early shoppers on Friday found some really nice items on the extra table: cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, yellow squash, eggs etc. And there were also several loaves of bread baked by Sandra at Hickory House. This sourdough bread is baked in an outdoor cob oven and it is amazing! Look for more on the extra table this Friday.
The last Friday of this month we will have a trailer full of gourds and pumpkins from strike farm. The trailer will be located in the parking lot and you can select the pumpkin you like and just add it to your order total.

We are starting to see some wonderful fall produce: butternut squash, apples, acorn squash, jalapeños. If your family has never tried butternut squash, you should. It may become your favorite fall vegetable. It’s delicious cut into half inch pieces and baked with a little butter and Beaverfork blend.
Check out the new baked goods from Wholesome Bread. The hearty white sandwich bread is my favorite, but the friendship bread is incredible too.
