Over the years Maria has come to know what people like and, though Maria makes a mild Chow-Chow made with red Bell peppers, she has managed to come up with a recipe so tasty it is closely guarded. It is not so much 'what' you put into making Chow-Chow, but getting the quantities right, and I mean 'right'. Anyone can make Chow-Chow, but not anyone can get it to taste fantastic. Chow-Chow goes with hot-dogs, burgers, peas and greens. Maria 'KNOWS' when the taste is right, and you will know, too. No more will you need to shop at WalMart and suffer the cancer causing chemicals, colorings, flavorings and preservatives needed to keep a canned jar on the shelf for months at a time. Our canned jars will last years (unopened of course). We are getting some wonderful responses for all our products, and we are somewhat embarrassed for some of the nice things people say about us and what we make. We wish to thank you all.

As with all my products, an old fashioned recipe with a slight twist. Made with jalapeño and colored bell peppers, it's a slightly spicy sweet jelly favored over cream cheese with crackers. HOWEVER, many of my customers buy to use as a lovely brush marinade over meat such as shrimp on the grill, pork loin in the crock pot, or meat loaf. Also good as a healthy substitute in the wok with broccoli and beef! I don't use dyes, and try to purchase chemic free peppers when possible. Cranberry juice is the sweet flavor!
